Personalising your car with a cherished registration plate has never been easier, but there are some simple steps that you must take. The first thing that you have to do of course is to choose the number that you want, a wide selection of suggestions are available at the DVLA the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.
The DVLA is the agency responsible for maintaining the database of drivers and vehicles in Mainland Britain. The DVLA, which is based in Swansea, is also the body responsible for issuing motor vehicle registrations and setting out regulations.
When you have your cherished number plate it’s yours for as long as you want to keep it and you can, for a fee, change it to any other vehicle that you subsequently own, subject to the new vehicle meeting regulations. As a simple example of this if the prefix of the cherished number plate that you have bought is a W, you cannot transfer this to a car which was registered before then, for example an H or J as this would suggest to a potential buyer of the car that it is younger than it actually was.
You do not have to own a car before you buy a cherished number plate, you can still find one and then buy it and this will be retained on a special certificate until you are ready to transfer it to a car, motorcycle or whatever. The process is straight forward and you can soon personalise you car or bike.

If you’re looking at washing your car, then you have a few options.
1. You can go to the automatic car wash at your local petrol station, where prices can range from £3 to £6 for the top wash which can take around 10 minutes.
Automatic car washes generally do a good visual job, but can often miss bits on complex alloy wheels, cars with Spoilers such as Subaru Impreza’s aren’t recommended to be put through just in case the spoilers are loose. Areas around the inner side of wing mirrors can often be poorly washed aswell. If you’re car is new and your wanting to keep the body work in good condition then I’d stay away from these types of car washes as they can cause scratching.
2. The car wash bays at petrol station car be a good option , some will take money straight away into the machine where as others tend to use a token based system.
Car wash bays general are a good option as your time doesn’t have to be limited. The brushes often get used by people with really dirty vehicles so this can cause marks on your new vehicle. Otherwise these are a good option.
3. You can always wash the vehicle at home.
Washing your car at home is often the option that most people choose as it is easiest and the lowest cost. Also there’s a wide variety of products that you can use to give your car a good high gloss finish. On average it will probably take you a morning or afternoon to get round a larger estate car inside and out.
4. Professional Car Valeter
This is going to be the more expensive option but they will usually come to your house or place of work to wash and prepare your car. It will often only take them 2/3 hours to full get around a Vauxhall corsa.

Often referred to as a migration, the process of switching broadband providers is not complicated, but there are a few basic points to consider before you make such a move. Taking the time to understand these steps, in advance, will help the migration go smoothly and minimise the chances of experiencing much in the way of down time. Here is what you need to know if you’ve decided to switch to a new service provider.
First, compare broadband services very closely before making a final decision. This means looking at each individual term and condition of the contracts used by the providers under consideration. By looking closely at the small print, you may find some hidden clauses that could result in fees that make your new and purportedly better service look less enticing. Only when you are sure that your situation will be improved by migrating to a new service should you proceed.
Once the decision is made, obtain what is known as Migration Authorisation Code or AMC. In many cases, your new provider will need this code in order to handle the details of the migration. Some providers will tell you this is not necessary to establish services, but you should still make sure your current provider does not require the code in order to release your service.
Typically, your service is migrated some five to ten working days after you submit the AMC to your new provider. Vehicle registration plates to all motorised vehicles and trailers are legal requirement and serve many purposes not least to identify the vehicle. Most governments require a registration plate to be attached to both the front and rear of a vehicle, but with some such as motor cycles they only require one, usually attached to the rear. Information about the registered vehicle is kept on a national database, in the Britain this is the DVLA, which relates this registration plate number to information such as the make, model, colour, year of manufacture, and if the vehicle has a valid road worthiness certificate (MOT), insurance details and the name and address of the registered owner or keeper of the vehicle.
In the UK the registration plate has to conform to specific requirements in size, shape, colour and style of lettering. Vehicles manufactured prior to 1972 had registration plates which were white, grey or silver characters on a black background; this style of registration plate is no longer legal on vehicles built prior to 1 January 1973. All vehicles manufactured after 1 January 1973 must display number plates of reflex-reflecting material, white at the front and yellow at the rear, with black characters. In addition, characters on number plates purchased from 1 September 2001 must use a mandatory typeface and conform to set specifications as to width, height, stroke, spacing, and margins. This allows number plate recognition systems to “read” the plate to ascertain if the vehicle complies with all legal requirements such as insurance, vehicle excise duty (VED) and MOT certificate.
From 1963 the number of registered vehicles had risen to such an extent that the then current three letter and three number combinations had run out and a letter following the combination beginning with A was added as a suffix, eventually becoming a prefix. This letter became an “age identifier” allowing the buyer of a second hand vehicle to know the age of the vehicle without having to look it up.
From September 2001, a new system of number plates was introduced which continued with the age identifier on the plate in the form of the last two digits of the year, 09 for 2009 if issued between March and August, or else has 50 added for example 59 for September 2009 if issued between September and February the following year. The current system will have sufficient numbers to run until 2050.

If you get a flat tire on your car then you’re going to have to change it, and put your spare on. We have created a step by step guide below so that you can learn how to change your car tire without any issues.
1. Remove the car jack, wheel brace and locking nut from there stored location.
2. Place the jack under the jacking point of your car, and turn the jack handle until it is in place but not taking the whole weight of the car.
3. Loosen the wheel nuts slightly, so that you don’t have to place great turning force on the jack later which could then in turn possibly displace the jack and damage the car. If the nuts are really tight then either try a longer wheel brace or place some piping over the smaller brace to extend it.
4. Once the wheel nuts are loosened slightly, and then lift the car fully using the jack.
5. Ideally the best way to remove the wheel nuts is the left and right nuts then the bottom nut and finally the top nut, but be aware that when you remove the top not that there might be nothing holding your wheel to the car. So watch feet and fingers.
To put the wheel back on just simply reverse the process. Make sure that the nuts / bolts are tight if in doubt get a 3rd party to check them for you.
