Acrylic bongs can come with an ice chamber in which you can place ice so that you get a nice cool smoke. Since the acrylic plastic does tend to warm up quickly.

Glass bongs can be slightly awkward to clean but the best way that i have found is to put rice in warm water and then poor this into the bong and swill round until the varying stays are removed. Glass bongs can also withstand a higher temperature and hold cooler temperatures which in turn allows for a cooler smoke.
