Importance of a good mattress

Sleep is very important to keep us healthy and live a long life, lack of sleep can cause a number of health problems such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol which both can lead to heart disease and put you at risk of a stroke. This is because your body enters a state of stress when it is sleep deprived and ultimately an increase of stress hormones which makes it even more difficult to sleep at night, so you end up going around in circles not getting any sleep.

Many people put their lack of sleep down to the pressures and stress of daily life, however not many people realise that it could also be their mattress that is stopping them from getting a good night’s sleep. Your mattress may not be comfortable enough for you so you can’t relax enough to fall asleep it also may not be good for back, if you suffer regularly from back pain this could be down to your mattress.

When looking for a new mattress or even both a new bed frame and mattress you need to make sure it’s comfortable yet firm enough so that your body is fully supported whilst you sleep. You will probably have to try out a few different mattresses in showrooms before you find the right one however once you have you will be thankful you took the time to look once you get a good night’s sleep.
