Planning to Install Underfloor Heating?

If you’re looking at under floor heating, then there are a few things that you need to think about.

1. If you’re looking at putting underfloor heating in an established room, then you’re going to have to fully empty that room for at least 2 days, in which time furniture will need to be moved and the old flooring will need to be taken up and scrapped, or carefully stored. If you have laminate flooring then it’s an idea to mark its location down so that you get the perfect fit again.

2. Choosing the right type of under floor heating is also important. You can choose from electric underfloor heating to a water based underfloor heating.

3. If you don’t feel comfortable in installing your underfloor heating, then you should find a local installer that can do this for you.

Underfloor heating can be installed under any type of flooring from stone to carpet. You will benefit from whatever type of flooring you have. But stone based flooring will take slightly longer to heat up but will also keep its heat better. If you have a carpeted floor then you can always opt for some underfloor heating insulation, which will of course keep the heat in longer

Having any type of underfloor heating will add you your electricity bill but in turn it will mean your heating bill should drop as the whole room is getting heated due to the entire base of the floor been heated and not just one area like a room with a radiator.
