Preparations for winter

Although we are still in summer it’s important to make sure your home is ready for winter leaving it too late can mean you’re not prepared if anything happens such as your boiler breaking down just as the snow sets in, or realising that your home is not properly insulated and you are wasting all your heat.

If you start early it means that you have plenty of time to get things done as some jobs take longer than others, especially if there are some renovations that need doing before winter such as laying an underfloor heating kit or installing a new boiler which can take time.

Other jobs that can take time to plan is insulation, you may need to make sure your loft is fully insulated or your boiler and pipes are or even invest in some cavity wall insulation and sort out other areas of your home that may be drafty, there is not point spending money of heating systems to warm up your home if it’s all going to be lost. It’s not just money you waste you also waste energy which causes harmful greenhouse gasses so you need to make sure that you don’t just save money but you also save the environment too.
