Save money and save the planet – Energy Saving tips for your home
It’s hard not to have noticed, well unless you have been living under a rock, that we all have to save energy, reduce our carbon footprint and generally stop having fun to stop climate change! Well probably not stop having fun but you know what I mean. Buzz words of the past few years have included ‘Going Green’ and ‘Energy Saving’ both aimed to help encourage us to cut down energy consumption, recycle and travel less using car, planes etc all with the hope of cutting carbon emissions here in the UK.
There are number things we have been encouraged to do in the last few years and many of these energy saving tips have started in our own home. Do you know how energy efficient your home is? Well not many people do, nor do they understand what energy efficiency is. Becoming energy efficient does not just have a positive effect on the environment but also one on your wallet, many homes are running at a low efficiency level mainly due to poor insulation and an old inefficient heating system these are the main problems.
You will notice a difference in your bills when you improve your heating in your home by having a new energy efficient boiler attached to a better heating system such as underfloor heating and an insulated home including wall cavities, pipes and the loft space and roof. A more productive heating system such as electric underfloor heating creates a more even heated home for a fraction of the energy used in radiators, as well as that correct insulation will stop you loosing the heat therefore not needing as much to heat your home.
These although major changes initially will end up saving you money and energy in the long run and all help towards being green!
