Learning How To Ski

Learning how to ski can be quite hard. Many people often find it easier to learn using a snowboard as you don’t have to worry about using two ski’s independently, as on a snow board both feet are binded too one board i.e. the snowboard.

Balance is one of the most important things to consider when skiing. Since snow can be very slippery then it’s very easy to take a tumble or for your balance to be altered, so been able to work with your balance and learn to balance well will greatly increase your skiing ability.

To keep warm it’s not ideal to wear big thick jumpers, you will be better with a thermal layer on top of your skiing and then multiple layers on top. Only wear one good pair of socks, as you will find that wearing 2 or 3 pairs of socks will soon make your feet a lot colder.
Make sure that your outside layer is waterproof and ideally brightly coloured so that other skiers can see you clearly against the snow.

Don’t forget about the sun. Just because you’re in a cold environment it doesn’t mean it won’t burn you, since the sun reflects off the snow it will burn you even quicker and you won’t notice until you get back to your hotel or chalet.

Skiing holidays can be great fun for an entire family or just single people. You don’t even need to go far for your skiing holiday as France and Spain all have skiing resorts, but if you do fancy somewhere far away then try whistler in Canada.
